LearnGen’s focus is to combat segregation, discrimination, and social exclusion of marginalized workers.EU Commission communicated in 2017 an inclusion and diversity strategy promoting the inclusion of older staff to equal work opportunities as younger staff.

LearnGen will assist develop skills in both worker groups to teach and learn from each other, making them less vulnerable to professional challenges, resulting in the implementation of innovative practice at the organizational level, specifically by having older workers mentoring youth on skills such as strategic and critical thinking and problem-solving and young workers using reverse mentoring to train older workers to become digitally and media literate.

1. Intergenerational Learning Curriculum
The content of the training will include the following 6 modules:

• Module 1. Introduction to Intergenerational Learning
• Module 2. Needs analysis to identify Intergenerational Learning needs in businesses
• Module 3. Designing Strategies for Managers, HR Professionals and VET Providers to combat ageism and social exclusion at the workplace
• Module 4. Implementing, monitoring and evaluating the above strategies
• Module 5. Train the Mentor curriculum and material
• Module 6. Implementing, monitoring and evaluating the training program

The curriculum will be equivalent to 18 hours of blended learning. The main output of the modules will be a draft of a strategy document and a draft program design integrating digital tools and targeting managers, trainers and HR professionals. An 8-hour workshop will be delivered to the managers, HR professionals and Trainers, followed by 5 hours of independent/group online learning. The independent/group learning will include live online tutoring and optional additional face-to-face meetings. A 5-hour workshop at the end will be held during which participants will present their strategies for their businesses/workplaces.

2. Training Package for employees trained to become Mentors
The content of the training will include the following 4 modules:

• Module 1. Principles and techniques of Mentoring and Reverse Mentoring
• Module 2. Competency framework and examples of the skills to be transferred
• Module 3. Mentoring scenarios for role-play practice
• Module 4. Adapting digital tools in your work, based on the two target groups’ needs

The curriculum will be equivalent to a total of 40 hours of blended learning. The main output of the modules will be a draft of a strategy document and a draft program design integrating digital tools and targeting low skilled low qualified workers of different age groups.

Together with institutions and international organizations, capacity has been built in joint projects for the exchange of experience and cooperation on topics of mutual interest related to the development of the Danube region.
